Typically, the UIL doesn't release the OFFICIAL numbers that they used until March or April.

I feel your pain. We turned in 459 but are down to about 445 and will start next year with under 420 (according to the HS principal). Our senior class is considerably larger than our 8th grade so we will have 2A numbers...fun, fun, fun.

They will release them Feb. 20. They do so because of the appeals process

We are smaller too than the 448 we turned in back in Oct. And, one of are biggest employers just announced they are shutting down completely. So, it could get worse.

I just got to thinking.. SA Sam Houston was in LV's district last year and they went D1 - so it's reasonable to assume they turned in more than 892 so they'll fit in the group bigger than Cuero. I am pretty sure Gonzales will have more than Cuero too. that puts Cuero in the bottom 3...... wow - been a LONG time since thats happened.

Lindale reported an enrollment of 987 per the Tyler paper.

14-3A

Lindale 987
Quinlan Ford 830 +/-
Wills Point 824
Van 670
Canton 566
Emory Rains 481

Rains is at a serious dissadvantage.

Actually, the UIL throws out the senior class numbers and uses the 8th grade through the 11th grade enrollment numbers to determine the realignment. So, you might have 2A numbers in the second year of this alignment but not both years (based on what was turned in, move outs are not taken into consideration.)

That is not true. They use 9th - 12th numbers for alignment. I was at the UIL offices yesterday morning and spoke with Dr. Odenwald and Dr. Cousins at length about this very thing. I suggested that they should not count seniors but rather count 8th graders and we had some good dialogue. Feel free to PM me if you want to know the entirety of our conversation.
