Just an FYI, regarding "Rio Grande City #2", look for a small town near Rio Grande City called La Grulla. That's where the new HS is located.

La Grulla has had it's own Junior High for years, but it always fed into Rio Grande City HS (which was 5A last year). Now La Grulla will have it's own HS and will compete in 3A, which caused Rio Grande City HS to drop down into 4A

Does it have an official name yet!? Surely they need to have a name for the High School and come up with a mascot and school colors and all that...

All I could find out about it is that it's off of Highway 83 somewhere near Rio Grande City. Thanks for the info though.

From what I understand, it's going to be called "RGC - La Grulla High School" but since the school is located in La Grulla proper, it'll probably just end up being called La Grulla High School by the locals.

As far as their mascot is concerned, I haven't heard anything yet. I'll try to find out for you.

I sure am glad we are going back to being 30-3a, I never could mentally make the switch to 31-3a.

Speaking of 31-3a, poor Raymondville and Lyford. All those other 3a schools (32-3a) within a stones throw and they both have to travel to the Corpus Christi area.

I'd gladly give Rockport to District 29 and take back Orange Grove if it would help.;)
