Every year there is a lot of complaining about the realignment. This year it seems as if there is not as much, as I look over the districts and the numbers I think the UIL did a better job then normal. I actually kind of agree with 95% of what they did.

3A = 430-989
The ratio is at 2.3

I like that they got 32 districts, I know some teams will be mad at only a 5 or 6 team district because 7 is usually the number you like to have, but for the most part I am pleased with the realignment.

What is your opinion. Did UIL do a good job?

I liked it for the most part just feel real bad for the boys in 1-3A

Will UIL post all the official attendance numbers that schools turned in later in the week?

Not to be picky, but isn't it enrollment numbers that are used....not attendance?

I think overall this was pretty good. A little surprising but it did address a few issues and built some pretty good regions. I think Region IV actually improved some for 3a and the other still look tough. Region II may now be the toughest region with moving henderson gilmer carthage into that one district. man.

Overall I think they did pretty well given some of the inevitable issues with geography and the 2.3 ratio from highest to lowest 3A. Guess it's hard to avoid some 4-team and 7-team districts without undue travel burdens.

What? Win 1 district game and you will probably get in the playoffs..that ain't too bad!

As for the UIL, we will volunteer to trade places with Celina so they don't have to go Div 1!:D

I've been following this for many years and I have to say that this is one of the best alignments I've seen.

Good Job U.I.L.

ADA is what is used.

A. Average
D. Daily
A. Attendance

Not enrollment. Butts in the seats is what counts.

I thought it was ADM, Average Daily Membership, and that number came from some convoluted counting of students who were enrolled in school on one day in October, 2009. They throw out the number of seniors & multiply underclassmen by 1.33. Then they average that with the same one-day count done the previous year. The average is then the ADM.

+1

i think they didn't do a great job of adding the 8th district back in (much rather have Celina going to the west) but it is way better to have no byes, and it seems like travel issues are a little less than in years past overall

The UIL used the enrollment number for Otober 15th of this school year. Not attendance but actual enrollment.

Here is a GREAT sotry about the entire process...

It is and IT IS! Had a great season this year, ending with the Abilene-Klein game at Baylor. More than made up for the 4 missed seasons while I was exiled to the East.
