This district is great. Geographically speaking it is the smartest move I have seen UIL make in years.

From an LH perspective, yeah -- y'all are smack dab in the middle of the district geographically. Looks like less than an hour's drive in all directions for the Panthers and their fans.

On the other hand, the trip between Llano and Salado or Taylor is quite a bit longer.

Not complaining, and I think it's a well-drawn district, but how ideal it is can also depend on whether you're in the middle of it or on the edge of it.

I think it's a solid and competitive district, though, and should be entertaining for all.

Dude quit your complaining...Taylor is only 2 hours. A Salado an hour and a half. You've seen worse in the past...

Sorry wasn't implying that you were complaining. I was just trying to think of what would be a better trip for you guys and Fredericksburg was all that I could come up with. I'm just glad we don't have to go to Ingram or Bandera. Those drives are brutal. This should be a fun two years.

I'm thinking more of Salado and Taylor, not Llano. There's no way to draw a 6-team 3A district with Llano in it that won't require at least some 90-minute to two hour one-way trips for the Jackets. There is for Taylor (i.e. much of D23), but they still have to trek the two hours to Llano.

Dude, it's not a complaint, it's just an observation that "ideal" alignment is relative to whether you're on the edge of it or in the middle of it.

That's it. Reading any deeper into it than that is a function of an overly active imagination.

Lampasas installed the Slot-T last year, and I would assume Salado is the other (assuming there are four Slot-T teams in 25-3A) -- since I'm fairly certain neither Burnet nor Taylor run it (having seen them both play in the last couple years).

Tyler will graduate this year. You know the Gobblers - RELOAD each year. We have a new AD/HC but as I understand it, the majority of the existing staff will be here :) and possible 2 new coaches. So that means a new OC and new DC. We will have 2 RB's back (Jackson and Thibbadeaux) and TE (Hoffman) DB/QB (Blaschke) They play more than 1 position. Many others coming back as well. Looking forward to another good season of Gobbler football. Our pre-season looks STOUT.. How's the Panthers looking? any idea if we play in LH or Cuero this year?

Salado does not run the slot-t i saw them play last year against West. They have have played a couple of teams that run the slot-t and the two teams are lago vista and rogers. I know rogers has liberty hills old OC there but i would say that they have not faced LH's slot-t or Llano's and lampassas's has to be pretty decent they did make the playoffs in 4a last year.

I wish I knew more about what is coming back...But, i don't. I know LH was very young this year. So, that means they will return several on boths sides of the ball. The QB (Thopmson) and the fullback (Fickle) return. I'm not sure were this game will be played.
