And I don't think La Marque is even gonna be that great. They went 3-6 in '08 and 4-6 in '09.

I put La Marque up there becuase i was told they played some 5a playoff teams very close this last season so that has to account for something. I think the Coogs are gonna make a big impression on 3a.

They beat Galveston Ball 26-0 (who is likely dropping to 4A as well) and played GP North Shore close 34-44 (but they are somewhat rivals and always play each other close)

That's what was said of both WO-S and Brownwood and look what happened to them their respective first years dropping down. WO-S was ranked #1 preseason in '04 and got knocked off in Bi-District. Brownwood didn't even make the playoffs in '08.

I think 3a is gonna be very tough this year and alot of the power house teams that have been in 3a might be playing basketball pretty early.

True 3a is alot tougher than what people give credit for, but there should be alot more teams moving down this go around then there has been in years past. Also most of these teams that are moving down have been making the playoffs in 4a and some even deep runs.

We shall see!! I've said it before, teams moving UP from 2A (Celina, Southlake Carroll, Prosper, Liberty Hill) have fared MUCH better over the past 30 years than teams dropping down (Everman and Cuero are the only two to win state titles within a couple of years of dropping down I believe).

Im still not sure Sville drops down, but if the do they will be the team to beat almost immediately IMO they are one of the best 4A programs in the state, and 4A is much more difficult than 3A(obviously).
I dont see much out of La Marque though, they have struggled the past few years. The drop will help, but they still wont be a title contender. they'll go out in the 2nd or 3rd round in my opinion

Eh! I would have to disagree with that. WO-S made the 4A State Finals in 2000 as the smallest 4A school in the state and beat the local Southeast Texas 4A district champ every single year from '04-'08 including 4A Semifinalist Dayton (twice!) and in 3A, fizzled every year. I believe we have a better record against 4A teams than we do 3A teams now over the past 6 seasons.

You know the math show's you to be right WOS87, but my brain says something different. I hope you are correct and will love to eat alot of crow if im wrong, but i think this is going to be the most loaded 3a has ever been.

Maybe the math sides with WOS, but numbers do not always tell the whole story. I just think 4A is much tougher because of the numbers and all the players to choose from

Henderson 0 (2009) I read from a Henderson guy on smoaky that they had 4 lineman, a good running back, and like 7 starters on defense back. and a qb who is supposed to be a junior that could the best passer there in 10 years or somethng like that
