It should be a great game. Minnesota is playing well and the Saints look like they came out of their recent slump. I will be happy if either of these teams win and go on to win the super bowl since none of them have ever won it even though the Vikings had four tries years ago.

I think that Minnesota gets some bad mojo for their last touchdown against Dallas. They've struggled all year on the road, and now they're going to one of the hardest stadiums to play in.

I like New Orleans by double digits.

Something along the lines of:

Saints 33
Vikings 20

I hope the Saints are up by 35 with 30 seconds to go and throw deep for another touchdown....turnabout is fair play.:)

I have a feeling the Saints are going to win fairly big in this game. Maybe like 38-20. Favre will get cocky with the game on the line and do his past mistakes and turn over the ball.

vikings dline dominates again, defense pulls away 2 turnovers. favre keeps the ball away from sharper, terrorizes the rookie cb and harvin/rice take the game over with peterson finally breaking one for a long run. 34-17 vikings.

I think Brees could hit the Saints receivers blindfolded within 1-2 seconds. I think he will do this against the Vikings and pick them apart, and throw deep enough times to keep them honest.

Saints by 7--they are the more complete team and have the ability of overcome the 1 superior unit Vikes.

Saints by 7--they are the more complete team and have the ability of overcome the 1 superior unit Vikes. as many problems as the saints had against dallas up front, if he does hit receivers within 1-2 seconds its going to be a tight end or bush on a screen, where shockey is still limping around and wont be much of a factor. deep is where to beat the vikings, past the third window or with your te. bush could be a problem if they use him right...like dallas should have used felix jones. colston henderson and meachem wont be getting quick passes, griffen and winfield are the best in your face cb's and run stoppers, best tackling cb's in the league. hopes for misses and lazy tackles are just that, hopes. poor tackling lead to austin miles getting hot and switch the game to a cowboys win, rice and harvin will do the same, with shaincoe and berrian keeping the db's honest. then you still have the key to the offense scheme...adrian peterson. peterson, even when he doesnt get many ypc he still brings the defense up, but i do see him breaking a long run against the saints. favre's played amazing this year, but alot of it is possible because of the toys he has, he's playing with a full deck of cards finally. ive watched every vikings game this season as well as every saints game(and cowboys) that wasnt on at the same time, vikings are the more complete team of the two. ive been preaching the last two seasons that if the vikings can get a decent qb, vikings would be superbowl champs, tjack couldn't do it and only one guy on the market that could, vikings got what they wanted and brett's going to get what he wants, finish out on top. (even though he should come back for another year after this)

skol vikings!

Didn't the Saints already beat the Vikings quite handily in week 5 or 6? Regardless if they stop the run vs. Minn. then they will win. IMO, AND- Sharper, Greer, Porter & Harper are the best DB's in the league...not those guys you said.

pancho villa

The Vikings will beat the Saints because their Def is relentless, and the Saints (well are the Saints). The biggest problem for the Viks will be playing a Varsity game after beating a JV team last week!

1) they havent played each other this season
2) i said press and run stopping db's, theyre the best hands down. coverage, theyre not too shabby, but nothing to the likes of nnamdi and a few others. heck, winfield missed 4-5 games and still is rated better than those 3 db's you just listed, id be more worried by vilma than them.

sharper is a smart player and is always in the right place, too bad he isnt the vikings backstop anymore.

It may have been credited to Favre, but it looked AP was the one that screwed it up to me. He clamping his arm down, and didnt even have the ball yet. Either way, it was a huge missed opportunity for the Vikes.

If the Vikes do end up winning, Favre may be too beat up to even play in the Superbowl.
Also, Favre is resorting back to his gunslinger mode. I see him throwing another pick or two before this is all over.

Congrats to the Saints. I am very happy to see them go to their first Super Bowl. After living in New Orleans for a number of years and watching the Saints suffer thru some of the most miserable seasons any NFL team ever had, I can tell you that their fans are probably some of the most rabid fans in the NFL and deserve and appreciate this win more than most will know.

I have never appreciated Bret Favre's retirement melodramas off the field, but I will tell you that he has re-enforced his reputation as one of the greatest on-field warriors to ever play in the NFL and tonight's game was yet another example.

Horrible calls in overtime... Ok Viking and Favre fans can blame it on that...

You could also argue that if they didn't turn the ball over 5 times that they wouldn't have gone to overtime...

Gotta say that while not liking what Brett Favre has done off the field the past two years by waffling back and forth. The man leaves it on the field in every game and in a time where many quarterbacks wouldve been taken out of the game. He came back and tied the game. Gotta respect that

A great game by both teams and a great win for New Orleans. I just wish Drew had made a small tribute to my old Freer HS classmate Mina. :(
