close game so far. Ravens need to get some field position.

Shows you how smart he is. Most QBs waste a timeout in that situation instead of just taking the little 5 yard penalty and moving on. It is one thing when field position or down and distance are critical. But most of the time the 5 yarder would be a much better choice than burning 1 of your only 3 timeouts. And also not a good idea to run the play if you recognize the play called is going to fail against what you see defensively and there is no way you can get a better formation and play called.

Watching Peyton commanding the field is something else. He is a very intelligent QB and it shows.

I read an article a few weeks ago somewhere and it was trying to compare Manning to great QB's of the past. I really don't think he fits in any category because he is on a higher level than any QB to play the game as far as intelligence is concerned and his accuracy is wicked good.

Peyton Manning is like an MLB pitcher when he throws-he is almost always within a few inches of where he wants the ball to be. Laser-Rocket Arm is a good description

Not trying to argue, because yes Manning is very smart. But you never saw Staubach play did you? He was the same way. Every bit as smart and football savy as Payton is. I cant think of another that compares though. Theisman may not have been far behind them.
