The rumors around Dallas while Tom Hicks was looking for a buy of the Rangers was that McLane was outwardly saying that he didn't want Jim Crane to get the team because inwardly he was hoping Crane would bid on the Astros again and increase the sales price of the franchise.

Unless that got absolutely no pub in Houston, it shouldn't be that big of a shock.
