Since this is public information, what are your head football coach/AD's making (for schools that combine these tasks)?

I believe Cuero's is in the mid $70's.

Thanks for your input, I'm trying to win an argument.

that's the proof in the pudding - it's NOT about the money - and if they coach in Cuero, you've got to believe it ;)

Most of your local newspapers will have the information if not they can get it.

Hay 44 you know its all about the perks like disgruntled parents, bleacher coaches hollering at you how bad you suck or kiss up parents that bug you and want their kid to have a leg up on all the rest.

Maybe I'm going the wrong way with this but if we make it sound so bad in Cuero we will chase off all outsiders and the SB will have to hire from within.

Well at least all the hundreds of homeless people will now have a good place to sleep most of the time you have to kick them off the locker room door steps.
Also I hear that the Nuclear waste will kill off some the millions of fire ant beds we have on our football fields.

Wow, thanks for all the input.

Was hoping to come on here and have 10 or 15 different figures.

I would hazard a guess that there are probably 2, maybe 3 head coaches that make right at or slightly above the $100K mark. For the most part, though, my guess would be that the range is around the $65K to $70K annually for those with tenure at a 3A school, with the average median being in the $72K to $79K range.:nerd:

That number has probably swollen to about 12 to 15 now, in my opinion, with about 2 or 3 of those being at the 3A level. The rest would be at the 4A to 5A level. I don't think anyone below the 3A level has gone above $100K. I know a couple of years ago (may have been last year) there were at least 8 HS coaches who were known to have surpassed the $100K mark according to an article I read but can't find now.

that article in 2006 listed 5 coaches above the 100k mark.

It would SHOCK me if there was a 3A HS that pays their AD over 100k...especially considering the prinicpal has to make more then the AD (which theres been like two documented cases where the AD made more then principal) and the Sup makes more then the Principal.....

eh?

Twenty-seven schools pay their football coaches more than they pay their principals, including Copperas Cove, where Head Coach Jack Welch earns $14,465 more than the principal, George Willey.

or do you mean AD alone and not a HC/AD?

HR 101:
People don't get paid what they're worth - they get paid what they negotiate for...sometimes school districts overbid and sometimes coaches underbid.

Teachers don't negotiate contracts, but administrators do.

Schools only have to pay the super more than the AD. Lots of HC/ADs make more than their principles. At least thats the way it used to be. But my wife hasnt worked in the admin for several years now, so things may have changed without my knowing it.

Don't know about the state but I would check Lovejoy, Prosper, Argyle and Celina to see what they pay. That should give an indication of successful 3a schools with high to middle wealthy districts.

The new super in Breckenridge makes well over 100k now. the old super didn't make that much.

Please don't do this. There's a fellow on here associated with Lovejoy named "Charlie" IIRC who practically blows a gasket whenever you bring up how wealthy his district is.

I for one have now learned to pretend that Lovejoy is no different than Gilmer in any respect.

You might qualify for the legislature with that approach...:stirpot:

Lovejoy is rich, yes they are.
