Why is the Cotton Bowl not being played at the Cotton Bowl?

Well it probably actually has more to do with the Cotton Bowl wanting to join the BCS.

Tradition doesn't have enough expensive luxury suites.

Which they can't until 2015 now. So after next years game I bet it moves back.

Well according to wikipedia

" However, a new four-year agreement between the BCS and ESPN has forestalled any possibility of the Cotton Bowl Classic joining the BCS until 2015 at the earliest."

But still why would they move back? It makes no difference to me where they play it.

Tradition. Stadium will no longer be this amazing structure.

A couple of early Cotton Bowl observations:

1. Pat Summerall is showing his age a little--having a few senior moments during the announcing, but I still like the guy.

2. Jevan Snead appears to have a little "deer in the headlights" syndrome at the start of the game.

Week after week I see QBs throw well short of a first down on 3rd and even on 4th down.... Zach Robinson of Okie State just threw a 4 yard pass to a covered receiver on 3rd and 11 when he wasn't even under much pressure.

Do you think its just the speed of the game and they make a hurried decision that causes this?

Throwing short of the sticks on 3rd or 4th has never made sense to me but it is done all the time. Maybe an all knowing coach can enlighten us.

It would be tough if Okie State knocks out Sneed and then gets beat by a true freshman!

How does Houston Nutt not get fired for running a kid with a concussion back into the game?

And ... I am not a doctor, but clearly he is concussed. Did you see that pass?

Not having a BCS bowl in Texas is just outright backstabbing.

It's probably about time UT didn't have to travel to a far away coast and prove themselves...they have done well in BCS games so far...

nebraska should have been there?...are you all saying based on their performance in the holiday bowl.....cause they are still the same nebraska that struggled with their offense almost the entire season.

basing it on their last performance..they would have done better in the sugar bowl.

I'm basing it on the fact that the #2 team in the Big 12 is supposed to go to the Cotton Bowl. Nebraska is the #2 team in the Big 12. I'm basing that on how Nebraska played Texas and Oklahoma compared to how OSU played Texas and Oklahoma. I don't see how Nebraska didn't have the #2 spot in the Big 12.

has that always been a tie-in #2 to the cotton bowl?......cause i remember one year k-state lost to a&m and ended up in the alamo bowl.????

cause i was under the impression that there was a picking order by the bowls.
