If the bottom number in 4a goes up Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Mathis, Rockport-Fulton, and Sinton with Goliad a possibility.

I have no clue... La Vernia and Luling coming back in with Cuero, Yoakum, Gonzales and maybe another is always a possibility... Palacios and Edna going in with Wharton etc... could happen... Goliad going back to a more southern district isn't out of reach... really don't know...

My prediction? Cuero, Yoakum, Gonzales, Luling, La Vernia and SA Sam Houston are in the same district in Region 2...

It doesn't matter who's in our district because Sweetwater will win it.

One more month to go, the UIL is gonna have a busy month deciding which team goes where. headaches and debates for them and all we can do is wait with suspense til Feb. Then we still gotta be in suspense for the long hot months ahead before any of us get to see the new football schedules :D Its gonna be another tough district for Sinton, The Pirates can still be powerful which means more great games ahead a real treat for us fans:)

You are probably right. I think it will depend on whether they need Goliad in with Edna, Yoakum, etc.

Some say we will go west, but I'm not so sure. We're gaining a 3A to the west (Big Spring), and losing one to the east (Breckinridge), and they could easily move Graham east. So I'm not sure our district will change much. Just our luck, they'll put Stephenville and Mineral Wells in. Dang, and I thought our district was tough the last two years. :weeping: :bigcry: :vrycnfsd:

Possible Lytle going down but doubt it. Pleasanton & Medina Valley may both drop and that could send Bandera with Wimberly and their old district.

Navasota
Bellville
Caldwell
Giddings
Smithville
LaGrange

That was a pretty competitive district 23-AAA just a few years back. Wouldn't see any reason it couldn't be again this year. I think we could trade a Smithville or LaGrange being at the far end of the district for Brookshire-Royal. Who knows though? That is what February is for!

We could be in for some long trips in AA or we could stay AAA and have basically the same district. I think 444 will be close to the cutoff #. We will either be one of the smallest or one of the biggest...........only the UIL knows.

The month before I got the job was realignment and we turned in 629 for the 2006 realignment. Quite drop for 4 years, alot AAA schools are drying up. Padilla's enrollment range for AAA is very wide. I can't imagine playing a school with 1000+ with an enrollment is 444. It will be interesting to see what happens with the "2:1" ratio in AAA.

bigwood33
01-02-2010, 08:41 PM
I still think the cutoff will be about the same as now, 979 and we will have several 5 team districts.

lvbears32
01-02-2010, 08:47 PM
i dont think uil knows what the cutoff numbers will be. i see the top number probably rising bcuz of the disparity of 3a teams in the state and to balance out the number of teams well b losing to 2a.

mwrams
01-03-2010, 09:25 AM
Torb we know what you mean. We had 961 at Mineral Wells and we are playing schools with 1900 like Saginaw and Birdville. Do you think they may have advantage? We will move to 3A next year. Which I welcome. We may not have the best teams in 3A But, we will be alot more competitive. However we will have some of the best if not the best 3A facilities in the DFW area.

Torb
01-03-2010, 10:35 AM
mwrams, I have seen your facilities and they are tremendous. Man, the enrollment disparity is unbeleiveable...there is no way that is whats best for kids. I'm like you, if we drop to AA we will still be playing tough people. But the odds are they will be playing about he same number of kids as us both ways. We played people this year that had as many Seniors on their roster as we had total kids.....we'll see what shakes out, good luck!
