I am glad for all the teams that made it. I just have that gut feeling after watching Lorena play 5 games it the playoffs and the pitching they have, that they are a fantastic team. Good luck to your pirates, upsets are even better!

3a State Title Game
Sinton vs Forney

Has Lorena played any 4a and 5a schools this year or has it been mostly 3a???

Sinton and abilene wylie could be a 2-1 or 1-0 type of game if both pitchers are on.

I have yet to see a pitcher shut down Wylie this year. I think they can score on anyone. They do not have a great pitcher like Forney or Sinton, however they do have 4 above average pitchers that have shut down just about every team they have played. (5 of 6 losses are to 4A and 5A schools early in the year) My guess for the semis is Wylie 6 Sinton 4.

Jsut a guess on Forney and Lorena; Forney 3 Lorena 2...

Best of luck to all of the teams and may they all arrive in Austin safely.

Average pitchers don't fair too well against Sinton. I would stop just short of saying Sinton is unbeatable with Alaniz on the mound, but I can assure all of you, Sinton is going to be very tough to beat. This kid is GOOD!!!!

Sounds like a classic matchup of good hitting vs top pitching. We'll see who comes out on top.

I woulda thought yoakum would have Alaniz figured out the third game but he still strikes out 15 on one days rest.He can be hit on but you're not gonna get many so better make em count.And as far as Sinton bats go-They ain't no lightweights either-They can bang with the best of em.

Nope...i never said that Yoakum would take Sinton...but in my opinion i picked Yoakum to beat them..but i just picked them by records cause i didnt know anything about either team!!

Wylie must have better than "above average" pitching or they wouldn't be in the semis. To get to this stage, bats must be pretty good too. It's looking like an "above average" matchup!

Actually it was Old Buff 78 that said Yoakum would win. The "dawg" fans were just going by Yoakum's one loss. Sinton fans, you think coach will try to start Adams against Wylie? Maybe save Alaniz for relief and the final? I think its at least possible.

It is always best to play your stud to get to the finals. Otherwise you might not get there. I just hope Alaniz is rested up after this last series.
