Friend of mine works at one of the Ft Worth schools and they had a big city meeting with all the schools and Dunbar noted that they are preparing for a move down in classification. We played them in 04 (we Decatur). Big guys but not a bunch of talent. Any improvements to the team I wonder? I know they have a stellar band program. Look for them to take some medals home in 3A if they do in fact come our way.

Basketball is where they will be a force, Nate---they always have been.

It's like trying to predict the end of time, it can't be done..........not supposed to! Every year we go thru this crap and it's exactly the same......someone's gona get surprised!

Kep, now come on man, you know that isn't going to happen! The UIL would have to gain superintendents approval and it would already be common knowledge. It isn't and they (UIL) didn't so it will not happen.
Dunbar to 3A COULD happen though. They turned in 879. That is obviously a 3A number so unless they opt up, they will be in with the other Ft Worth schools that are 3A (Castleberry, Polytechnic, etc).

When I was in HS in the late 70's our basketball team (I didn't play bb) played them yearly They always had tremendous talent, but not a lot of team discipline. They tore it up during the season, but rarely won at the state level.

It used to be illeagal to dunk in warmups. I watched them get about 6 techinical fouls one game because of pregame dunks. They still won by 20.

I think Abilene Cooper played them in football last year and it was the same story. Lots of athletes, not much team discipline.

I will be stunned if Dunbar opts up they turned in a 3A #. Lawson has said they would probably opt up.

Dunbar opened the season with Abilene and got rolled. It's a misconception they have a lot of football talent because they really don't. They had 3 big time kids this year and then a big drop off.

They are not the same in hoops either. Still very good but not the Dunbar teams of old.

The team you should be worried about dropping is Dallas Lincoln. They'd be a force

You can make a decent guess at realignment if you gather enough data :)

Matt, I tried to answer your PM but your inbox is full (always). I know you probably get 50 PM's a day sometimes but since you have a little stroke around here, you might see about an expanded PM message box.

Dunbar will be yet another former 4A team who moves down to 3A, only to get their tails kicked by "inferior" 3A teams.

Dunbar is not going to be a threat in football. The only drop downs who I see really being strong are LaMarque, Kilgore and maybe Stephenville if they drop
