That would be Tarrant County. Tarrant County teams won 10 chamionships over the last decade. That is more than any other county in Texas.

Are you talking just football?

I am betting there might be other counties that might be in that ballpark.

Prosper
Allen
Celina
Farmersville

Is Pilot Point in the same county?

That is a decent concentration. How about per captia?

7 of which are accounted for by only two teams (Southlake Carroll and Euless Trinity)

Archer County might have a claim to the overall championship seeing as how many championships have been won by Archer City, Holliday and of course Windthorst. And this done with a county of less than 10,000 people.

Holliday hasn't won any football titles ever I believe

Archer County has 3 titles all-time according to my records: Archer City in 1964, Windthorst in 1996 and 2003

Thats what I was thinking. They have been close. In baseball too, but never seem to win.

True... Those 3 counties DO have a combined population of almost 5,000,000 though which is half a million more than the entire state of Louisiana and two million more than the entire state of Arkansas.

Per capita, East Texas still looks pretty good.

East Texas plays incredible football from the smallest towns to the largest towns...they also have the most 2a and 3a schools than any other geographical region...

I enjoy all of Texas HS football...doesn't the Houston area have 10,000,000?

You have got to be kidding me right?!?!?!? You are gonna take an area of the state that if you take all the counties combined wouldn't add up to the pop of the dfw metroplex and talk trash.

Comical!

How about the fact that Morris county in East Texas is geographically the smallest county in texas, and has only 2 towns in it is sitting right there with the big boys?

That is not correct. That distinction belongs to Rockwall County.
