We have to face the No. 1 team with a great defense, a QB that hates Texas already, a team that whipped Florida, and the Heisman Trophy winner. Alas! Alas! Surely there will be happier days than this! :(

Dooommmmmmed! :(

We DO however have a QB who has been spurned at the Heisman ceremony 2 years in a row.

The last UT QB that made it to the Heisman show and didn't win was Vince Young and remember what HE did to USC that year?

It can happen again...

I dont have a dog in this hunt so I will give you something to ponder. In the NC game with a Hiesman Trophy winner playing dosent the team with the Hiesman winner usually lose the game?

Me thinks that Texas may just win this one!

Alas! One of the ESPN experts said that Alabama's Terrence Cody is a better defensive player than Suh! That increases the risk.

I'm not sure because I was only half paying attention but this comment caught my attention. We have to remember that they spend much more time and have much more resources to go by than most of us and that is why their judgement is much to be respected. :(

Don't worry, Phil. After your team loses in the BCS Championship game you can still head on down to South Padre Island and catch that band that owns their own night club near the Isla Grand Hotel:)

Just don't try to stay at Ocean Towers, it's not there anymore:(

It keeps getting worse. Alabama has 6 players that made All-American. Oh the woe! :(

Phil, don't forget this little tidbit of good news for the Longhorn fans: Alabama has NEVER beaten Texas! Maybe, just maybe, we can all breath a little better now.....:)

But Phil, it doesn't stop there...

I didn't want to tell you but you need to know what to expect on the 7th...

From ESPN:

Alabama goes into the BCS National Championship game as the only team East of California to be ranked #1 during an odd-numbered year not beginning in 19 with a Heisman Trophy winner at running back and a quarterback that played HS football in the state that is being represented by the other team which comes from a town South of Waco, West of New Orleans and North of Mexico City

THIS IS HORRRRRIBBBLLLLE

Alab beat Flord because they stopped the Run....and that's all Flord can do.

Texas doesn't run. Once that Alab secondary get's spread out, it can be exposed by the underneath short stuff, where Texas leads the nation at execution.

I see another close game coming with the possibility of a UT special teams or defensive TD to win it.

Texas run D is very good, so Alab will have to take shots down the field. If Texas scores on their first possesion, they will win the game.

But waterboy you have to remember before the Rose Bowl game with USC we had never beat them before. Most discouraging indeed. :(

I took a poll at work today from 10 people, 6 of which claim to be Longhorn fans. The most extreme prediction for Alabama was 45-13, the most extreme prediction for Texas was 35-21. The win/loss was even, with 5 picking Texas, 5 picking Alabama. The average score...drumroll....Alabama 33 Texas 17.

I personally picked Alabama 31-17, so that is not far off from a poll prediction. Still pulling for UT, but I just think Alabama is lights out while Texas is inconsistent and struggling to keep up.

Phil we must also not forget the most important part of the story an that is Alabama is a part of the SEC, the greatest conference known to man, while Texas is a part of the lowly big 12, sad times ineed. What chance will we have, to beat any SEC team much less their champion:( momma did say there would be days like this

Oddsmakers forget about the emotion of the individual players. I think Texas WANTS this more than Alabama.

I dunno, I'm betting Alabama wants to be Nat'l Champions just as bad as Texas does...

My early prediction is Alabama 0-0... don't think either team will score early (first couple of minutes)..
