hey were you getting your updates....i have little interest in westlake and tivy games.

westlake...former player and family friend now plays with them and has done a great job at safety.

tivy have some buddies that coach at tivy

FG brenham......looks like the nails are in the coffin for tivy...i was hoping they could do.....I really like coach smith.

Coach Smith and his staff do a great job with the Tivy program....they graduated a lot....and they never back down from playing a tough non-district schedule.

Euless Trinity leads Round Rock Stony Point, 28-20, in third quarter; winner will play Austin Westlake

3:42 p.m.: Trinity was just stopped on fourth-and-1 from the Round Rock Stony Point 20-yard line. RB Damien Hart was stopped short of the first down on Trinity's first possession of the second half. Stony Point's John Howell came up with the big tackle, with some help on the left side. It's the first time Trinity hasn't scored on a possession all game.

3:16 p.m.: Halftime update: What a first half for Euless Trinity junior WR Brandon Carter. He has three touchdown catches for a total of 149 yards receiving. Carter has touchdown catches of 10, 64 and 75 yards. Trinity's other touchdown came on a 59-yard end-around run by WR Bobby Brown. There was only one possession in the first half in which a team didn't score (that was Stony Point). Trinity is averaging 20.7 yards per play in the first half, and the Trojans will get the ball first to start the second half at Waco ISD Stadium. The winner gets Austin Westlake next week. If you're looking for a radio feed from this game, I'm told it's on KHVN-AM 970.

3:09 p.m.: Stony Point answered Trinity in a flash, as this game continues to go back and forth. Stony Point took 25 seconds to drive to the Trinity 30-yard line. And Stony Point kicker Devin Cook came into the game with 5 seconds left before halftime and blasted a 47-yard field goal that was good to cut Trinity's halftime lead to 28-20. What a game it's been so far. Thoughts?

3:04 p.m.: Wow, Trinity keeps on piling it on with the deep passes. Facing a third-and-22 from its own 25-yard line with less than a minute to play in the first half, Trinity called a vertical route to the left side. QB Willie Hubbard threw deep left, and WR Brandon Carter out-jumped Stony Point DB Kevin White for the football at about the Trinity 25. Carter came down with the ball, and White fell to the ground. That allowed Carter to score. It was a 75-yard touchdown pass from Hubbard to Carter to give Trinity a 28-17 lead with :30 seconds left before halftime at Waco ISD Stadium.

2:57 p.m.: Stony Point just scored a touchdown just before halftime to cut Trinity's lead to 21-17 with 1:31 left in the second quarter. Stony Point scored on a 12-play, 66-yard drive that was capped by a 1-yard touchdown run to the left by QB Aaryn Sharp. Stony Point went for 2, and it got it with a pass to the right from QB Gus Barrerra to WR John Garofoli. Stony Point basically flip-flops QBs every other play between Sharp and Barrerra.

2:44 p.m.: Trinity just struck quickly. On its first play of the second quarter, QB Willie Hubbard uncorked a long pass down the middle of the field that receiver Brandon Carter came down with and took it into the end zone for a 64-yard touchdown pass to go on top of Stony Point, 21-9, with 8:13 left in the second quarter. Carter got away with a push-off. Just before the ball arrived, he pushed off of Stony Point DB Desmond Martin to get enough space to catch the pass.

2:40 p.m.: Stony Point kicker Devin Cook just made a 29-yard field goal from the right hash to cut Trinity's lead to 14-9 with 8:25 left in the second quarter at Waco ISD Stadium in this Class 5A Division I state semifinal game. The winner will get Austin Westlake next week at 2 p.m. Saturday in the title game at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Westlake beat Katy Cinco Ranch today in the other 5A Division I state semifinal game in Austin.

2:31 p.m.: End of the first quarter, and Trinity leads Stony Point, 14-6. Stony Point has the ball at the Trinity 47-yard line facing a second-and-1 to start the second quarter.

2:27 p.m.: Trinity forced Stony Point to punt and then responded with a seven-play, 65-yard touchdown drive to go up, 14-6, with 1:06 left in the first quarter. Trinity scored on a 10-yard touchdown catch by Brandon Carter from QB Willie Hubbard. Hubbard rolled out to his right and found Carter at the front of the end zone. Carter caught the ball just in front of a defender as the ball came in high. Trinity's offense has been sharp so far.

2:15 p.m.: Well, it didn't take Trinity long to answer Stony Point. On the second play of Trinity's first drive, WR Bobby Brown took a handoff on an end-around to the right side and ran 59 yards for a touchdown to give the Trojans a 7-6 lead with 5:47 left in the first quarter. Trinity took only 49 seconds to score. Damien Hart delivered a great lead block for Brown to spring him. Stony Point's David Fulgencio missed a tackle at about the 20 to allow Brown to get the last 20 yards down the right sideline for the score.


2:11 p.m.: Round Rock Stony Point just drove right down the field on Trinity on the first possession of the game, marching 65 yards in 10 plays. Stony Point scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run by Sam Kelley to the left side. The kicker, however, kicked the ball low and it hit the crossbar and was no good. Stony Point leads Trinity, 6-0, with 6:43 left in the first quarter.
