Balanced meals are overated. Stick with the noodles. Throw in a pizza every now and then. :D

Hey, I lost 40lbs from March to June eating well-balanced meals. I miss peanut butter, but I don't miss the weight! wink

I've tried it. And it was actually nastier than I thought it would be.

Also, to 'spice' up my meal last night, I thawed out a 7 month old slab of ribs. They were horrific. I just hope I don't have some kind of worm in my small intestines right now.

I am feeling sleepy...

Try throwing an egg in with the noodles right before you finish cooking it. The noodles come alive with flavor! eek!
jykoy, it has more protein and it taste better.

Kinda like Egg-Drop soup?

That's usually what I get when I go to Who-Dat's in Rockport...

Never get that soup anywhere else...

Yep. You don't want to mix the egg too thoroughly or it will disentigrate into tiny pieces and lose that drop-like quality. It revs up ramon every time.
Sometimes jalepenos can create a nice touch too.

So you, just drop it in there?

Let it to the work, you do nothing?

Drop the egg(no shell, of course lol) in there and swirl it around a few times 10 seconds before you stop boiling the noodles. Then add the seasoning packet and you're good to go.

I lived on Ramen noodles and that swirled pb&j when I was in college! It was a good month when I had a little left over to splurge on something at Taco Bell! You can get a lot for a little there. A friend of mine told me that she throws a handful of frozen veggies in her Ramen soup and wahlah ~ a meal!

McDonald's dollar menu is great! Get two double cheeseburgers and a McChicken with a water, and with tax it comes out to be exactly $3.25, which most college students can afford

Yah, I usually grade two Spicy McChickens and a McValue fry... $3.17 or something like that...

SintonFan, I just ate lunch... Noodles too... And I chunked an egg in it...

Not bad!

Also, you can add a can of V8 to the ramen noodles while cooking, and it tastes kinda like spagettio's.

You can also make ramen lasagna....cook noodles in a block don't let it come apart, then top with spagetti sauce and a piece of cheese and viola ramen lasagna.

Also for lots of protein you can mix ramen noodles with an egg, water, and cream of mushroom soup. Don't use the season packets from the Ramen.

You can also add hamburger meat to any of these. You can get a 5 lb. block of hamburger meat for 4.00 and 1.00 for the noodles, buy a couple cans of the soup (2/1.00) and some sliced cheese (2.00) and some V8 (2.00) so about 10 bucks that will feed you for a week.

I've heard that if you only eat Ramen Noodles you will eventually starve because there is no nutritional value.
I like to take the bag and crush the noodles while it's still sealed then pour enough water to cover the noodles in a glass bowl and slap that baby in the nukrowave for a couple minutes, All flavors are better with Tony Chachere's on them.

I'm sitting here with misty eyes....you poor college students....I wish I had lots of money so I could send you some food! My daughter goes to SWT and she PREFERS to eat Ramen instead of eating in the cafeteria where I paid $979 for her to eat!! Wish I had invented the stuff...I'd be rich!! :D

Don't get me wrong, I hate ramen noodles. I wish I had some cafeteria plan or something but I just make the best with what I can! Ice cream = dairy, chocolate = sugars...etc..

Okay, here is a secret recipe from my dad:

Take 2 slices of bread, put peanut butter on one side, miracle whip (or mayo) on the other. Add a slice of cheese, two slices of cooked bacon (if it's in the budget) and some sliced onion. Close the sandwich and butter the bread and grill like a grill cheese sandwich.

I know it sounds pretty gross, but it doesn't taste anything like you would think. (I think it is GREAT!) It is also very filling. :D :D :D

I heard about that RM, isn't that a Colorado type thing or something?

If you have a sweet tooth, butter a piece of bread, put some sugar on the buttered side of the bread, fold it in half, open it back up, dump the remaining sugar back into your container (or whatever), fold it back up and eat it...

That's what my grandfather used to do back in the day...

QB]I really don't know! My dad used to always make that when we were little, and he was left in charge of feeding us! He named it after his initials - J. E. P., so we have always just called it the "Jep Special"! :D
