Where would they put Lowell? Solid player, but the infield seems a bit crowded and at least two of the OF positions (Hamilton and Cruz) are locked up.

Will they shift people around? Put Lowell at DH? (Are Andruw Jones and Blalock still there?) Or just throw him on whatever corner (likely LF) that Hamilton and Cruz aren't playing? And if they do that, what happens to Borbon? Do they send him back down to the minors or keep him in the show as a well-paid bat boy?

All that being said, great moves. Harden's an injury risk, but if he stays healthy and produces like he has in the pas the Rangers look tough. First true ace they've had since.............

....Nolan, maybe???

Don't forget Chan Ho Park, the Rangers' ace only on payday, in the immortal words of Gerry Fraley.

Helling was pretty good, though. But he was no Chan Ho.

Jones and Blalock are ghost. Lowell will be a DH-slash-utility guy.

Yea Millwood was great, why'd we trade him?

For the LE fans...

With the trade of Lowell to TX does this mean that Will Middlebrooks will get moved up quicker to The Show? Will was the SC QB and Punter for LE in 2004. He passed on a scholarship to TAMU and signed a 900K contract with the Redsox out of HS. Last year last I looked he was playing AA for the Redsox and they had mentioned him as being a potential replacemnt for Lowell since Lowell was aging...

Why don't you get with the Rangers organization and straighten them out on this. You seem to know more about everything than anybody else. I'm sure they would love to have your valuable input.

Gonna be sad to see Mike Lowell go. He was a good hitter in 2009, but just wasn't clutch like he was late in 2008.

Glad to see him go to the Rangers.

Now if they can just sell the team...

Methinks a change in "A" will fix "B".

I have had the "Adios Hicks" banners waiting in the house for a while now...

Word on the street is you'll only have to wait another week before the process gets underway and the new owner is named.

Will Davis stay in the lineup? He was pretty disappointing last year, but still has huge upside.

Cant make contact well enough you can't have him as an everyday player when he strikes out that much in my opinion. With all the hype around Smoak (although he struggled some last year) if he is as good as advertised Chris Davis may never see significant playing time for the Rangers.

Only concern I would have about Harden and Lowell is durability...they have both been injury prone in recent years.

Feldman has turned into that and Holland has the potential to be a staff ace if he can get his act together

been there, done that, no thank you Don't discount what Millwood and Padilla did for the Rangers young pitchers. They are both true professionals in that they rolled out there every 5 days and ate up innings. Padilla might have made some questionable decisions but he was the enforcer of the staff and really bulldogged it out there on the bump. His stuff wasn't awesome but when it was his day to get the ball you could count on him to show up and give it his all. Millwood was a great acquisition and will prove to be a huge loss in my opinion in that he was a real leader in the clubhouse as well as a great role model while out on the mound for those young guys. You could count on Millie to get into the sixth or seventh inning every time he went out. That is huge for what Nolan wants this young staff to become. Nolan wants 5 guys in the starting rotation that will go out there and work deep into games every time they take the mound no matter what, good stuff that day or not. Pound the fastball, be around the zone, and minimize your walks and you can make through those games where your stuff isn't so good. Nolan made a career out of it and that is the kind of pitcher he wants on this team. Millwood was one of those kind of guys and was unlucky the last couple of years in that for whatever reason he just didn't get very good run support. He lost a lot of close ballgames where he pitched good enough to get the win. Hopefully Hardin can stay healthy and be that kind of pitcher as well.
