Sitting at the game Saturday, I couldn't help but get pumped up with the Tarpon faithful over the up and down swings of the game and then the utter disbelief that they were actualy 1 game away from state when they won. It is an unbelievable feeling. There were a number of times when it was do or die and each team did, and then it went on again. Incredible.

Port Isbael has a had a long record of getting to the playoffs and then dropping out 3 or 4 games up the ladder.

It will be an incredible sight in the stands when they actualy win. You can imagine 40 - 50 years of pent up emotions all being released at once.

Good Luck Tarp's......Rock the Alamodome.

That would be an awesome feeling for sure. Don't know much about Marlin except they beat a very good Bellville team.

This team has what the '94 team needed, more team speed.

Man I would love to see a Port Isabel vs Sinton Pre-District game...two great towns with AWESOME fans and AWESOME teams....

FYI I heard that PI was gonna play Cuero in a Pre-District game next year...damn..Cuero is gonna be real tough next year and these kind of games are just what Port Isabel needs to get even better...

Liberty Hill is gonna be REAL TUFF team next year..they return alot!!..LOOK out Burnet cuz the Panther Express is comin soon!! eek! eek!

Just wanted to say Gluck to all the teams left in the playoffs..this far in the playoffs and its just sad that someone has to lose...all teams have fought so hard to be where they are at right now....best of luck to everyone and may the best teams win.........PEACE!

This team has what the '94 team needed, more team speed. That ain't no joke! We (the 1994 team) had some speed, but our linemen, both offensive and defensive, were pretty slow.

The 2003 version of the Tarpons has speed all across the board.

Like I told some of the players after the game on Saturday (Lando, Frank, Missile, and a couple of the OL), now that they have achieved their dream of making it as far as Port Isabel's 1994 team did, it's now their turn to SURPASS what the 1994 team did and to truly make a name for themselves by keeping up the hard work. It's now time to truly take it to the next level!

YOU CAN DO IT, TARPONS!!!!! BEAT MARLIN!!!!!!

I think it's funny that you guys keep talking about your 1994 team because in Bandera that was the same year everyone kept talking about until the 2000 season when we made it to the semi's. What makes it so funny is that in 94 it was Port Isabel that knocked us out.

Hey why does every seem to keep on saying we were slow.I sure as heck wasn't slow and I'm still not slow (4.4 NFL 40yd).Jimmy Gonzales wasn't slow well maybe now. Gabe wasn't slow,Eddie Stamps,Jesus Ramirez,Jim leo Ochoa,Gilbert Verduzco,Ed Francois could Fly,Juan Hernandez 10.4 100yd.I agree that our line men were slow but consistent and the darn best blockers. We all could hit you so hard we knock the sense out the other players Mom."94" had their chance TRUE but we were a Monster of a Team.Ask Dat Nuyeng(Dallas Cowboys)Clint Finley(Nebraska)and a host of players that went on to play at reputable Universities.

PI football is no based on talent is far deeper than that. It's genetic it's a passion that starts at the womb of elementary schools and junior highs. Its the stories you hear at the local bait stand,at the pier while you see shrimpers are coming in for the begining of the season. It echos from above the heavens in the spirit of those who longed to see the Seawall Defense aquire the final prize. When battle lines are set between highways, when the majestic sea of blue and sparkling silver shines from a hopeful people. It's paradox to people without the notion of Pride and friday night glory, have to ask themselves how do they do it.It's not tradition for tradition is the mere reputation that we carry. It's an obligation to self, and to the community that nurtures that thought. The thought of being the last team standing. Its a thought that was birthed by patriarchs such as the Legendary Eliseo Villareal. No matter what the outcome is Saturday we are Legends in our own time.

It's Dan. Where have you been? Call JS or Martin. Get together with them so we'll meet at San Antonio. We will be the ones flying the pTi flag. Later man.
