Rangers trade Millwood for Chris Ray

This trade doesn't make much sense to me. Ray is essentially washed up and the Rangers still have to pay $3 million of Millwoods contract. Hopefully this frees up enough money to go after one of the free agent pitchers anyways

Ray is still young (he'll be 28 next month) and has had SOME success as a closer. I think this isn't a bad deal for the Rangers who were looking to dump Millwood's big salary. I don't know if the Rangers see his future in the bullpen or as a starter but I am sure the papers will have some info tomorrow. There could also be a press conference this afternoon.
