How many teams will be in AAA?

Will the top number of AAA go up or down? It was 979 last time around.

What will be the bottom number of AAA?

What does everybody think?:)

I would say the bottom number would probably rise from 429 to either around 445 or 450 and the top number should rise about the same as well.

since they are admiting 16 more teams to 5A wouldnt the Top and bottom numbers of 3A stay the same as they are now or even lower just a bit???

Why does anyone even try to guess? If 5a does increase the number of schools , may no affect number due to new schools opening

i think the big trend now is to open up 4A size schools....frisco has done that .....victoria is spliting into two 4A's

Dont you think though, it's planning for future expansion, and those schools will eventually be 5A?

I personaly doubt it will lower but if 5A expanded then I could see 3A stay the same.

In the case of Frisco, no. They want their whole district to be 4A. Ditto for Denton and McKinney.

I don't know what Victoria's doing. They had 4A schools at one time and then combined them all into one 5A, and now they're splitting them again, it sounds like. Guess they wised up.

I'm hearing now that the ideal size for a school is between 1,000 to 1,300 students. That'll be within the 3A range in another 10 years, unless we get a 6A.

Until there is an amendment to the CCR, there can be no more than 245 teams in a class. No amendment has yet been passed because the UIL just released all the amendments to the CCR, and the addition of teams to a class was not one of them. So 5A will still have the 245 largest schools in the state, and the new schools will then be fit accordingly..... It's still like talking about the the price of eggs in China...it doesn't really matter until your in China and need to fry an egg....Hurry-up Feb. 1st.

I am guessing that the bottom number goes up to somewhere between 475-499 and that the top number goes up around 999

Victoria had two 5A school before, and made one big 5A.

The Number will be whatever Case McCoy says it will be.

Victoria ISD is simply splitting its campus into two population-even campuses and that is how the numbers fall out. Those close to the area know what a fiasco the consolidation was. This should be better for students and for the district, both academically and athletically. VISD is currently an academically unacceptable district because of certain statistics at the high school level.

We have a lot of excess $ in the Booster Club at Wylie so I'm thinking that if we spend it wisely, we have a good chance of dropping down to 2A.:p :p
