Was it Shelby Shaw? or did he play later?...I remember watching that game...I was a sophomore that year and it severely sucked losing to Kirbyville. Lots of history between those two teams. (Class of 88)

And the winner is........TWINKLE.

Twinkle, you must have been on the team that held Butch hadnot to 49 yards on 23 carries. Do you remember the Shelby Shaw cheer?lol Lolli-pop, lolli-pop, lick, lick, lick ring a bell?

Twinkle,...if you were a sophmore in the 88' football season then that means that you were a graduate in 1991. I only know one female that is a big enough fan of football to remember the answer to that question.

do you know any former game wardens from Newton County? GIG EM' AGGIES!!!

No, you are wrong my friend.
K-villes last win came in 85.
Not another win, not even in '93 when Newton was 3-7, one of the 3 was against the Ville. But, Buna did come away with a win that year. Go Cougers

1985 score was 27-8 S. Manchac was the QB

1986 score was 21-7 S. Shaw was the QB

1987 was a blowout by Newton(27-0)? Shaw was QB

1988 was about 27-14 Kirbyville

That is the last time Kirbyville has beaten Newton.

Sphinx, I was a sophomore in the 85 season, I graduated in 88. I do not remember Kirbyville winning the games that Comp is claiming...If Kirbyville won those games then they should have been District champs in those years (more than likely). I will have to make a few phone calls and do a little research before I concede that Comp is correct. Any other Newton fans out there remember these losses?

Oh, and Sphinx...I remember that cheer well, and also one that went "Watermelon, Watermelon, Watermelon, Spit;" and the ending was identical to the Lollipop cheer. Oh man, those were the days. We thought we were so tough. Btw...do you remember the "Towel Crew"?

Kirbyville, Kirbyville, KirbyvilleA simple you were right and I was wrong would have been sufficient. Glad to see that you can admit that you were wrong. Because you were wrong. You are right about the record, nobody in arguing that point. Let me know when you want to know some more trivia. Your Hero, Compudyne

I will try to be more polite with my apologies from now on Mr. Comp. Can you give me some Info. on the Tight end for K-ville? Is that Jeremy Shocky or was that guy just having a bad hair day?

Is that Jeremy Shocky or was that guy just having a bad hair day?I think I know which one you are talking about. I have seen Kirbyville with a different TE the last 3 weeks. The one last week was #34, I don't know who he was. Before that was #46. He was a lineman that was moved to TE and moved back to the line the following week. It is safe to say that he was having a bad hair day.

Even though the information was tough to swallow Compudyne, I will accept your word as gospel. You are an encyclopedia of knowledge a pundit of pigskin the swami of Southeast Texas Football. I thought the last time Kirbyville won was when Bubba Bean was playing...circa 1972. My dad hauled me to my first Newton - Kirbyville game then and I remember Jimmy Walker running down the K-ville sideline for a long TD run. I was hooked from then on.
