Bandera toughs it out
Needing a victory in the regular-season finale to reach the playoffs, the Bulldogs then upset five straight district champions, including Midland Greenwood in double overtime in the 2002 Class 3A Division II championship.

Vengeance
Scoring 42 unanswered points, Hondo avenges a 44-point loss to Wimberley in the previous year’s playoffs by rallying from a 20-point first-half deficit to stun the defending state champion Texans 42-35 in the 2006 Class 3A Division II quarterfinals.
