I just have one negative commet. The half time show your band put on was so wrong. I can't believe the powers that be allowed the band to make Fun of our mascot in such a way. I think it was in very poor taste and really cheapen your sportsman ship. Apparently you guys, or at the very least the band, hasn't learn how to be a gracious winner.

Wow a band playing at a football game. Never heard that being a problem.

Just put the shoe on the other foot. How would the "mean green" feel about their beloved turkey being made fun of. The whole skit was in very poor taste. If as a parent you fail to realize just how poorly it was, then I feel very sad you and your school. In Ingleside that is not the values we try to teach our kids. Everyone deserves respect. It doenst matter how many points are on the scroe board. My kid was in the hot sun just as yours was in august. they stay late for practices, spent long hours preparing for the Friday night games. So what gives the gobblers the right to make our mustang the butt of your joke?

I think both sides deserve respect. I guess the gobbler band doesn't feel the same way. Wonder if you will feel the same way when it happens to you?

TrueBlue your RIGHT, That was not Cuero in anyway with what the band did do, And yes almost everyone on the Cuero side, could not beleave they did something like that. it was wrong, and I am sure the band and whoever in charge of that crap will hear from alot of people about that. From most of Cuero we want to say sorry. Even our side was saying that was "BULL****"

thank you cuero dad. It makes me feel better that what happen wasn't the opinions of all gobblers. It is hard enough to lose, but to have it thrown in your face, that's a tough pill to swallow.

By the way, the green chat was quite impressive. I will give you kudos on that one.....job well done!

I have to agree 100% with you also. That was poor taste on the bands part. Ingleside played a great game. That mess does not represent what Cuero's all about.

I was very impressed with the Mustangs team. I really had no idea what to expect, but the QB and offense as a whole were VERY good. Good year Ingleside, ya'll definitely deserved to be this far. Another good win for the Gobblers. Each week gets a little tougher, as you would expect, but it would be hard to believe that you would face a better QB than you did this week.

Great game, Gobblers. I wasn't there, but you showed throughout the playoffs that you're the class of Region 4. This was supposed to be the best team we've had in a long while and you hung a nice win on us.

Now bring a state title back to the "weak" region.

This Mustang fan appreciates your positive comments. The boys never hung their heads even when they were down by a bunch. Cuero is an excellent team and it didn't suprise me how good you guys were. For a sophmore, Trent looked like a beast. Thidbeaux ran all over us. ;)
I hope Cuero wins the State title for us region 4 fans. I know we will be well represented. Heck if either of the next two games are in SA, I may attend the game.

Mustangs, you had a great season. I am looking forward to next season. Time to air up those roundballs. :D

The Announcer said they were going to play a song entitled "A mustang got ran over by a gobbler". I think the tune was "GrandMa got ran over by a reinder". To be totally honest with you, I couldn't hear the music.

Once the music started there was a girl with a horse costume running around the band (who just stood there playing). Then out comes a mini parade float with the gobbler mascot sitting on it. It was being pulled about by 6 girls. Well, the mini parade float started to chase the running mustang. Eventually the mustang was caught and "ran over" by the gobbler.

It was tasteless and very disrepectful to our school and mascot. But apparently several people have posted that this is not the feeling of all Cuero fans.

Hmmm, about this whole band thing....

It sucks that the Cuero band couldn't have done a bit more respectful halftime show and I understand it may be offensive to some, but, come on... even though it sounds stupid to me, and is one of the main reasons why I don't watch halftime shows, it just doesn't sound that bad...

If it were a real mustang gettin' ran over by a real car or something, okay, call Peta and have the band director fired etc... But a skit to a song that kids sing along with? and instead of the grandma gettin' ran over it's the other team's mascot? It's kinda weak if that's offensive...

Year after year Cuero's opponents are tossing around rubber chickens, their cheerleaders are putting up "mmmm, eat turkey blah blah blah go get our dinner blah blah if it gobbles cook it blah blah get the dressing, we'll bring the turkey blah blah" signs all over the place... That's just as bad as this skit you guys are talking about, wouldn't you think?

Does it offend us? No... annoying? Yes, because it's the same ole crap, but to be offended would be lame...

I dunno man, this offended-too-easily frame of mind is killing us...

Cuero Gobblers pounded their way into the Semi-finals Friday night.

I want to start by saying that Ingleside had one of the best passing attacks I have seen all year. The QB (Hull) is a really solid QB and is the best QB I have seen this year in 3A besides Arndt. Normally I do not see teams south of Cuero execute a spread offense as well as they did. I was impressed. Not any dropped passes and the QB threw a good ball and allowed his receivers to make yards after catch.

With that said, I do think Cuero could have thrown the ball all night as well. BUT, I kind of figured we would play a conservative style game and try to run the ball. Ingleside had 8-9 guys in the box almost every play and yet we (Cuero) were determined to keep running. Why? Not sure, Gilmer is going to get all the game films anyways and know what we do. We could have throw for 400 yards last night. I just hope we pull out everything this next week. Throw the ball and that will set up the run. Allow Arndt to make things happen.

The thing that matters most is Cuero is playing Gilmer for the chance to go to the Championship game. And we came out of the game healthy.

A couple of things I would like to point out and many fans made the comment that our secondary is weak, yes I agree that our secondary had some hick-ups, but I do not give all the blame to the defensive backs. Their is NO safety help over the top, you can not expect a high school corner back to continuously play one on one with a WR all night. We have NO safety in the middle of the field and this is a problem, If the QB has time then the WR should and normally will win the battle with the CB. Why not go to a cover two (robber style) defense? Why not change up coverages every now and then? Also I feel that Ybarra had a clean pick and the ref should have ate his flag, he undercut the WR and made a good play, However I thought their was some bright spots in the defense. Understand that this offense was executed very well and I will give Ingleside alot of credit. Our defense has been suspect all year but the main thing is they just stop the other team one more time then they stop us.

The Gobblers did not look as crisp as they did against Sealy but I assume they will get it together and be ready to put on their best game of the year vs Gilmer.

And to all the Ingleside fans - Stop complaining about the band, get real people, your coach and players are interviewed and make a comment about having Turkey on Thursday and left-overs on Friday. No one from Cuero makes a big spill about it, go get the round balls out and quit complaining. It is a skit!!! No one is poking fun at Ingleside, get a freaking clue. YOu lose and you dig as deep as you can to find something to complain about.

You want some complaining? Ingleside held numerous times and only called for one holding penalty - Seriously? If anyone caught some breaks it was y'all. Two questionable Pass Interference calls and a line men down field? That was the backside TE who was in to block, technically he was not covered up and is allowed to go down field, SO GET A CLUE and DROP IT!!!!
