View Full Version : Who Wins DII?

I predicted a Carthage-Argyle final, with Carthage winning it all. Of course, I never, ever give up on my Bulls, but I think they would be a real darkhorse if they win it.

Let's hear it---who do you think will win DII?

I know Carthage is pretty good and I also know that Caldwell is pretty good. If Carthage can make it out of Region 3 they should win it all. But, they will have a tough time beating Caldwell to get out of the region and my pick if for Caldwell to make the finals.

Dont sleep on Region 1. I think Graham and Brownwood can beat anybody in D2. That being said, there are alot of other good teams. We need to get a few more weeks into this thing before the water will clear up.

Region 1 - Graham or Brownwood
Region 2 - Celina or Argyle
Region 3 - Carthage or Caldwell
Region 4 -

That's my opinion.

If I had to guess, I'd have to say Carthage for sure. The opponent is the one I'm not so sure about. Argyle or Pittsburg are my 2 favorites on the other side of the bracket.

Does Argyle run mostly?

Better not count Brookshire Royal; could be the most dangerous team in Div. 2.

13-26 for 233 yds passing, and 32 rushes for 123 yds against the Bulls. 6 of those passes went for TD's. Argyle is a spread team that likes to pass, but does have a running game.

I guess I am confused because I was sure that Gilmer would take the trophy for both divisions this year.

Maybe.....maybe not. We'll see. I'd have to give the edge to Argyle, but Pittsburg has been a surprise team with some mojo working. Pittsburg is very athletic and very fast.

Not too discredit Region 1 or 4, but I see the state game as Region 2 vs. 3. They have too many powerhouse teams that have been there consistently. As for the state game itself, I have to say Carthage is a heavy favorite.

You have to give one thing to Celina, They played one of the toughest schedules and played toe to toe with what I believe to be the favorite(Argyle).
