Its just the "Texas Special". Gene stallings drew it up against t.u. one year

We used that play back in the 8th grade. It's hilarious to watch the defense running up and then stop and start walking. Worked like a charm. The JV and Freshman teams have used it a few times also.

My pee-wee coach taught us that

A variation of that play was in Coach Ritchey's playbook. He would
have two WR's lined up next to each other on the line of scrimmage
and a RB behind them about three yards off the line. From what I
remember the play never worked.

The thing is to listen to the refs' whistle. If he hasn't blown it the play isn't dead so tackle the ball carrier.

If it was against t.u. then wouldn't it be the Tulane Special?

No, texas special is correct in that instance because UT would mean Tennessee

Only if it was ran east of the Mississippi. Because Texas owns all UT copyrights west of the mississippi river and Tennessee on the east.

I knew that wasn't Texas high school ball even before I saw the "Arizona" part....the DB who hesitated was the only thing between touchdown and disaster. Any team in the playoffs try that crap and the receiver gets blown up before he gets the bounce..;)

Used to see that play run often when I used to officiate games. The wise coach informs the game officials so that the play doesn't get blown dead before it has a chance to develop.:D

Can't believe the defender didn't just blow up the wide receiver.

That play has disaster written all over it.

I have seen Celina run that play before, at the varsity level. I think I remember that they tried it against LH in the '06 championship game. I know it was sometime in the playoffs that year.
BTW, against LH that year, Celina onside kicked the 1st 3 times that they kicked off...getting it twice!
