This will be a fun one to watch, especially with both being undefeated. ove seeing two old school names going at it, just wish it was further down in the playoffs.

I like Sealy in this one by 3 pts. Should be a great battle between two Texas high schools with long history in solid football play. Go get'em District 25-3A!!!! PS-DD is tough!!!!

This is should be a very good game. I'm gonna say Sealy 26 Cuero 21. Sealy needs to put the awful Defensive performance in the Needville game behind them. I think everyone was looking forward to the Sealy/Cuero game, and over looked Needville. Both teams will be up for this one!! It should be a great game. Sealy had 37 plays and had 505 yds of Offense. This has become a good rivalry over the years... I tip my hat to both of these great teams, and wish both of them Good Luck!

Gotta go with tthe Gobblas. I saw what BR did on Offense to Sealy. Cuero is a much better TEAM or should I say has better team speed. Cuero will expose a slower LB'er crew of Sealy. But Cuero cannot completely stop Downey and Co. If it's close in the 4th.... I may eat crow... Good luck to both

Downey is a better back than the kid from Cuero; Sealy's defense
will step it up and will make key stops to pull away in the 4th quarter. Too much speed in the secondary for Cuero and Sealy's Linebackers are much improved from last year. Their 2nd teamers are good too. The free-safety, Jamison will bring the wood to you.

MaxPreps Fresh Faces Class of 2012 Top 100
Top sophomores ready to emerge this fall.

As if college coaches needed any more reasons to visit Cuero, Texas, outside of quarterback Tyler Arndt, coach Mark Reeve’s team also boasts one of the country’s top young running backs, Trent Jackson.

Trent Jackson - Cuero, TX

Jackson was the district Newcomer of the Year after rushing for 21 touchdowns and 1,423 yards. He’s 5-11, and he looks like anything but a freshman in his highlight tape.

A fine track runner, Jackson’s speed just adds to his array of moves rushing the ball. If early indications are accurate, there may may be no better running back in the class of 2012.

this game should be a nail biter and it comes down to ball control, turnovers and defense. thinking of how this season has developed this game is a toss up but i'm going to have to go with the gobblers on this one by a td.

also word is going around that some bellville fans will make the trip to see this game (wearing red) to no suprise they will be sitting on the cuero side.

should be exciting how this game turns out.

# 25 better keep his head on a swivel!! Have seen both play and while Downey is a very good back, IMO Jackson is better and still just a soph! In the game against Gonzales, he rushed for 290+ yds in the first half! Again  He also had 190+ yds in Cuero's first playoff game.

All the footage seen here was from last year. And like Jackson Downey has gotten much quicker and stronger. His 74 yard run against Needville was one of the most amazing blend of power, balance and speed I've ever seen.

No, I'm not... BR has 4-5 speedy athletes on each side, although on offense you only see the QB, RB, and #15... no one else touches the ball... The O line is fat and slow, the d-line has 1 quick dude the others ar not fast... 77 although decent is not fast.

So, in my opinion, I am not kidding...

The oline is fat?? our right tackle is a hurdler in track and our center ran a 4.8 40 yard dash and has a vertical of 26 inches....Are you on crack?

also...we have 3 other receivers with 8 or more catches on the year....#2 has 3 TD's and #3 has 2 TD's. so some other people do touch the ball

The Downey kid is an amazing runner as well. It looks like he is a Sr. and has a lot more experience and understands the offense well which helps lead to a ton of production when you add that with his athletic ability. He looks really fast but has small strides which probably helps his shiftiness. Trent Jackson looks to be faster and has more break away speed. Both programs run zone and let both their RBs be who they are and just run to the hole they see. I would like to have either one of them on the team I'm pulling for any day. By the time Jackson is a Sr. he will be one of the best ever if he keeps progressing like he has. He looks and runs like Adrian Peterson.

Someone made a comment that Cuero has more speed than BR; I doubt that. BR beat Cuero last year in the 4 x 1 at the regional meet and then smoked them at the state meet. They don't have anyone that can run with # 5. That entire relay team plays football and 98% of the the kids that ran track play football. Cuero may have good team speed but BR has more team speed.

Sealy's special teams are very solid too. I know the running back from Yoakum gave Cuero fits in a district game. Downey is much faster and qucker with great balance.

Sealy by 7 in a hard fought game! It seems as if the teams, such as Yoakum, with big lines and big backs give Cuero the most trouble. Generally, the teams with speed don't give Cuero as much trouble. Although, I think the overall team speed for Cuero is not what it has been, but it is still good. Should be a great game.

Thanks for the support! It is appreciated. I guarantee there will be plenty of Gobbler support for the winner of the Edna/La Grange game.

I can't go to sleep.. trying to type on the laptop in bed in the dark lol. forgive any typos please...

Congrats Tigers on a great season. 11-1 most teams would give anything to have that record.

Got to visit with LHPM and LHPD for a while and I met Brahma84 after the game. Sorry I didn't get to meet up with Tiger957 this year. The weather was yucky but certainly could have been worse! I thought the rain was over when we parked but took the slicker suit/poncho just in case - I was sooo glad I did.

Sealy's kickoff return team is good. Gave us fits all night.

for the most part, it was a clean game. After the game, the Tigers lined up quickly did the customary hand shaking, then met as a team. Then the team gathered and seemed to do a little "dance" for the Sealy crowd. I noticed several of the players (on both sides) extending their hands to help the other up off the ground.

I am so proud of the Gobblers.. Talk about a Tale of 2 Halves of a game! Great team effort. I would post the stats but I am sure I'd get blasted again for that.. ;)

Some observations from San Marcos last night:

-They play some weird music at that J's place downtown, I'm talkin' N'Sync, Will Smith? I can't drink beer to that crap (though it'd drive me to drinkin')

-Lotta men at Bum's, we scooped in and scooped out

oh wait, about the game:

Got off of work, met my buddy in Victoria and we headed for San Marcos.. When we were walking up to get tickets the scoreboard read "Tigers 21 Gobblers 7"... Now, I usually don't freak-out about scores but I was pretty concerned... but man these Gobblers nutted up...

Coach Reeve, I'll never understand why he does things like punt with 5 seconds left in the half instead of going for a pass, I guess it's so nothing bad'll happen (which is why we shouldn't pass period if we're gunna use that logic, then again we shouldn't punt at their most dangerous scorer either).... but I can't be picky because he does everything else pretty damn well.. I really appreciate that man! that one drive where we ran, ran, ran, ran, ran was awesome... you then came out, got 'em all in the box and the pass was right there for the TD... loved that, I laughed it was so sweet to see...

Trent Jackson? Are you freakin' kiddin' me? you're sick and twisted dude, sick and twisted...

Tyler? What a leader, just awesome...

Defense? Hell yah for that second half...

You knew something good would happen, Sealy came out of their moon-walk thing all hyped, Cuero just came out calm, no worries and took her down for the score... then the D opened up with the two three-and-outs... HUGE...

Those "thuggish" Sealy players must have failed a class or they didn't let 'em come... #3 got a little testy when one of our players tried to help him up, but after the next play (TD pass) he helped Tyler off of the turf: that's what I like to see... you can't judge off of that first reaction because it was high emotions out there, he was a gentleman, they all were...

Mitchell: Use your timeouts! I think they're still on the board...

What a game!!! I want to first state that last nights game might have been the best game ever coached and executed in the Mark Reeve era. The gameplan was perfect, you could not have scripted a better two drives to start the second half. AND WHAT IMPRESSED ME THE MOST WAS - Coach Reeve used Arndt and the pass to set up Jackson later in the game. He didn't call that lateral passing crap or those stupid WR sweeps, everything was vertical (attack mode). He allowed Tyler to be a playmaker and make things happen. When things were not looking good, Arndt took in upon himself to make several big time plays. Then once we had worked our way back into the game, we let Jackson loose. That kid is freakin amazing.

Sealy has a very skilled football team, the QB is solid and #14 WR is pretty darn good as well. Downey is a very good player and can score from anywhere on the field. HOWEVER the score was a lot closer then the game really was. Halftime score was 28-27 but the Gobblers had 322 yards in the 1st half and Sealy only 123. Cuero spotted Sealy 14 and dropped a TD pass in the 1st qtr, Can you imagine the damage that Cuero would have done if they had not spotted them the 14. Cuero would be pretty scary if they had a special teams.

I will add that the "X" factor for the game was #29 Andrew Thibideaux. This kid made numerous big plays throughout the night, He may never get the recognition that some of the others get but he is a key player on defense and offense. He had big plays on 3rd downs and made a huge pick, also the other kid to standout was #3 Monty Green, he forced the pick in the 3rd and had numerous big catches on 3rd down to keep the chains moving. He also covered very well in the secondary.

Last point - Coach Mitchell and Sealy why call timeout with 35 seconds left, if it was me, I would have thrown for a TD and hung 60 on your ass, YOur down three scores, if you wanted to use those timouts then you should have done it with about 4 minutes left in the game. Stupid Move!

Cuero 53
Sealy 36
Sounds pretty good to me.

Wasn't at the game, but it sounds like he might have been trying to get some seniors into the game that don't usually get on the field for their last game.

I am listening to the recorded broadcast right now - with 9 mins left in the 2nd quarter - he's said Goooblers 3 times that I have heard - 2 of them immediately after Cuero scores. :D I assume that is Mills saying it. Otherwise, the guys are pretty good broadcasters. They keep it going and make it interesting. of course I am partial to Joe and Grandpa of GOBBLER RADIO but these guys are good.

I just got to the begining of the 2nd half on the Sealy broadcast and he clearly said - HERE COMES THE GOOBERS - no L in it.. :hand:

very exciting 2nd half...Gobblers make good adjustments and advance on to face some Mustangs...this will be good for about 2 quarters, then Cuero blows them out...

After seeing last nights game I have two words for Trent Jackson: "Division One". That guy is an amazing running back, not to mention only a sophomore! I really hope this kid keeps his head straight and stays uninjured because he'll be playing on Saturdays without a doubt. Also, Tyler Arndt is a hell of a quarterback. He's one of those players that makes a play when nothing is there. He throws the prettiest ball out of all the quarterbacks I've seen this year and is very smart about throwing it away and not taking any sacks. Other Cuero players I thought that were really good were #61, #29, #33, and #3. It's hard to question it when it works but, why does Cuero roll out on almost all of their pass plays? It worked the majority of the time for them last night but it was just a little odd to me the number of times they rolled out.

On another note; Sealy, you played a hell of a season and congrats on the district championship. Downey is a great running back and I hope for the best for him as he moves on!

from what i saw last night and that was the only game i've been to this year, they rolled out a lot because they mainly threw out routes which are much easier to hit on the run and also tremendously reduces the chance for an int.

What a great game! Okay, the weather was sucky :p , but that didn't take away from the atmosphere. Both teams left it all on the field and should be proud of their accomplishments this season. Congrats to the Gobblers on the win!

44IAR, Mr. 44, 'lil 44 and Old Green - it was great to see you. Next time could you get there about 15 minutes earlier, get seats out of the rain and save some for us? :D

Thank You Headhunter for your comments (proud of our QB) and congrats to Cuero. AS for those talking about the announcers on the internet, you have to excuse Mills. He was probably trying to say Gobblers but it came out that way. During the St. Pius game he kept calling Cody Barrett our quaterback , Cody Brandt. People were calling asking if there realy was a Brandt that they sent in the second half.

Cuero is an awsemone team and great fan support. I'm still proud of my Sealy Tigers but I hope you guys win it all.

Great game last night between two great teams. I thought both teams played with intensity and good sportsmanship. Really do appreciate the support from the Bellville fans and the rest of you Non-Cuero types that have been so supportive. Was great to see so many of you at the game. Heard some very nice remarks made about the Gobblers by the Sealy coaches as they left the stadium. Thanks for those kind words. Congrats to the Tigers on a great season! :D :D

Mills ha, you know he meant to say Gobblers the way he said it...

I remember him jogging his team over to our team during pregame so the two could get in each others faces...

thats funny.. is he going to get back into coaching?

Very impressed by the Gobbler team, especially the QB & RB. The QB was very smooth with his play action fakes and did a fine job of looking off the defense. Most HS QB's will lock in on their targets and allow the safetys to follow their eyes. Best QB that I have seen all year. Got to chat with a few of the Cuero coaches and say good luck to some of the players. My friend's son took some pictures with #12 & #27. Good luck guys!! :)
