Congrats to the China Spring Cougars for the playoff win. I am looking forward to watching the Cougars and the Bulls play in Mansfield Friday. Heard a lot about the Cougars over the years and now at last I'm going to get to see them.

I have a lot of respect for coach Monzingo (?) though. He immediately yanked the kid and you could hear him tell him to sit down.

Entertaining game. Nice to see 3A again, especially when you only have to drive 10 minutes to see it!:D

Wow, did not see the coach take him out. That was the right thing to do.

You could tell they were a pretty classy well coached team.

We will see more of them in the years to come.

Congratulations to CS gave it our best shot. Unfortunante about the late hit frustration coming out and yes props to Coach Monzingo he will not put up with that. Thought we came out ready to play moved the ball well defense had CS passing game under control. Thought CS Bell is much more dangerous as a runner could not stop him on the ground.

Proud of the Hawks great year boys. We will be back.

Well in need of a recovery group now. We were always a baseball family never played much football untill we came to Canyon Lake. Friday nights quickly became the most anticipated day of the week. Don't know who it is harder on to see his football career end me or him, no it is me for sure.

January and baseball season can't get here soon enough.

i believe that fg was a cs all-time record. he hit a 47 yarder in the mud at west earlier in the season.

I feel for you. I am on the other side and know it will come. Hopefully later rather than sooner. I saw my son after the Wylie loss last year and cannot imagine what will happen after his senior year. Maybe we get a couple of lucky bounces and I will not have to endure.

Tell your son to enbrace the memories. That is what high school football is all about. The memory of giving your best for your school and community. The memory of " Yes I was on the first Canyon Lake football team to ever make the playoffs. Unfortunatly in the first round we met China Spring, who went on to win the state championship." Sorry my memory came forward.

Yes and everyone who has played high school knows that you will talk about the rest of your life. I talk about it all the time and talked about it earlier today. Its pretty hard right after the game, i balled my eyes out after Abilene Wylie. And i miss it of course, but life goes on and everyone needs to know that. But in a few days everyone gets over it, i talk about every game changing play in state two years ago probably every week. it took me longer to get over losing in state, then it did after my last game.
