That Brookshire Royal pulled off the most "surprising upset" of Round 1?

I must admit....I knew they were peaking at the right time...and really thought they had a chance in this game...but the fashion in which they won DID surprise me. I'm intrigued. Is anyone else?

This evening I'm asking myself these questions....

*How good ARE they?

*BR legit? Giddings a pretender? Little of both?

I've gotta say....I'm a believer!

6-5 (4-1 in district), 2nd place in D26....and knocks off Giddings who was considered to be a deep playoff team this year.

I LOVE THE PLAYOFFS!!

Anyone else think any of the other games in Round 1 were upsets?

Let's hear your take.

GO FALCONS!!

Congrats!

I know Needville didn't win...but they were down 21-0 at one point w/ Sealy about to make it 28-0...then Needville gets a pick and doesn't look back till they're up 36-35. Sealy then strikes very quickly on a long Downey run. Needville gets the ball back w/ 56 seconds left.....there is no doubt in my mind they would have scored again for the win as Sealy didn't seem to have an answer for Needville's offensive scheme in the 2nd half.....except....they fumble the ball away w/ about 50 seconds to go.......

I feel bad for Needville's QB Berry, as up until that point he had played lights out.

Not an upset....but a bit of a shock to most I'd suspect considering all of the "Sealy 62-17" talk.

You can't win many games if you turnover the ball 6 or 7 times.

I would say the BR game was the "upset" of the week. I've heard from a reliable source that the players were hard to convince of their talent early on and they had some tough moments at practices...

Yeah...they've got a new coach in his second year if I'm not mistaken....he's finally got them believing in themselves. That's ALWAYS been the problem in BR. They're always loaded...just no discipline or confidence under the old coaching regime. We down here in this district have been saying it for years "If BR ever puts it together and starts believing in themselves...we're all in trouble"
