Pearsall is doing their best impression of past Liberty Hill teams. They run, run and run very well coupled with a stingy defense. This will be a better team to beat than RH.

i'll say if Sinton can get their offense back on track and score over 30, they will win. no turnovers!!!

our defense kinda eased up in spots in the 4th qtr too....gotta play the full game if we're gonna beat Pearsall!!

GO PIRATES!!

This will be a tough game for us. Pearsall lost their all everything QB Niko Salinas, but they have not missed a beat and are looking to erase that 49-14 drumming they got last year.

Little early for a prediction, but I'll start with a Pirate win. :D

Im going with Sinton in a close game.

Not only the bye week, but their last 3 games were against the weakest teams in their district. 4 weeks without a game that has tested them.

But three straight against long-time rivals and a top 10 (SA Area) and top 25 team in Bandera. Went 2-1 losing to Hondo 34-26 in a thriller. The team can score 54 high, or win a grinder, 13-10 over Bandera.

Pearsall lost Nathan Valle at QB, Salinas is no slouch on his own right but played at Pleasanton. Offensively, Pearsall likes to run the ball and their defense is improved x10 from last season.

So, is your coach not choosing neutral fields and prefers to flip like the valley teams? in the first round game, Sinton wanted neutral and Rio Hondo wanted home field. The 2nd round Sinton played at Pearsall choice of field last year which was in Floresville and since they met again it's a automatic pick for Sinton and Sinton pick Corpus Christi.

Looks like Pearsall runs the ball alot. Did anyone compare their schedule of last years win/loss to this year? About the same. Looked like they were averaging the same amount of points last year per game as this year. Why did they only score 14 in last years match up? Must have had an off night. Sinton's defense will have their hands full no doubt, but it seems the defense has gotten better the last few games.

It should be a good game. If Sinton's offense can produce they will be fine.

Pearsall was 7-3 a year ago.

Scores:
Southside L 38-6
Marion L 27-13
Nixon-Smiley W 49-20
Kennedy W 20-0
Devine W 29-24
Bandera L 62-27
Hondo W 34-20
Lytle W 55-0
Carrizo Springs W 41-7
Crystal City W 54-21
Sinton L 49-14

Pearsall only scored 14 points on Sinton but the game was relatively close early on. Pearsall did not take advantage of scoring opportunities and gave up the big play to Sinton. The turning point came with the score tied 7-7 and Pearsall going in to score. They fumbled it at the 10 yard line and Sinton recovered. They then scored on the next play on a 74 yard run. They led 21-7 at the half as Pearsall had three or four possessions inside Sinton territory but did not cash in. They had an incompletion on fourth down in the endzone, an interception at the ten and the fumble at the ten.

We are pretty banged up defensively, but these boys have still continued to play and have stepped up their game.

Our offense at times appears shaky with so many dropped balls and/or over/under thrown balls.

It's really very simple. If our offense executes, Pearsall will have a LONG night. These boys have proved week in & week out, that they will not stop coming at you. No point spread is too great. They believe that they are always just one big play away from being right back in a game. Even against Ingleside, down by 21, they didn't hang their heads, and even if we didn't win the game, they still kept coming.

One thing that can not happen, is we can not continue to have a "down" time. Early in the year it was in the first half and now it's coming in the 2nd & 3rd quarters. You have to play 4 quarters of football. You get a break at half!!!

GO PIRATES!

Pearsall strength is their front and their LBs. If they can get pressure on the QB which I know they will try to do and protect well enough in the secondary they have a chance. Their offense is not really going to light up the scoreboard but they do some unconventional things that are hard to defend. I think Pearsall is going to be too big and fast for Sinton. They really do have some great athletes that preform well with a lot of emotion. They better control that or Sinton will pick them apart.

Teams south of SA are underrated and under appreciated. Records don't mean much in the playoffs... its all about matchups. 29 3A was hard to gauge due to injuries to Bandera and Devine during the year and 31 3A was a dogfight every week. The teams that coast into the post-season typically struggle once there and the teams that are battle-tested late have something that can carry them when the going gets rough.

Experience and tradition are intangibles that not every team has that could make the difference...

Sinton needs stick to their big play passing abilities and they can pull this one out. Harrison is a great QB that stays poised under pressure. If he gets on a roll.. watch out!! The defense needs to step it up as they did against RH.

Yeah, remember that vividly, Pearsall got on your schedule when they were in the middle of going 0-24. Losing 62-0 really smarted. :(

Should stop raining after lunch, but the North wind will start blowing then. It is hard to throw the ball in a 30 mph wind. It should be an interesting night. Any one know if Sinton is on the east or west side of the stadium? I forget which is the Home Side.
