View Full Version : Ingleside (10-1) vs. Bandera (8-2)

Ingleside played one heck of a game against Zapata with a convincing score of 59-18, but they are definitely no Bandera. I don't know anything about Bandera, but their record indicates that they are a good team. Last week I didn't include a poll so I thought I would for this week. Rooting for Mustangs!!

I heard that the game is going to be in Floresville. Can anyone confirm this?

Any thoughts on this game?

All Depends on Hubble. Bandera is good without him but if they have him you don't have a chance he is a really good tough football player. He has been injured. The other kid is a good player as well. But Hubble will be very hard for you to stop.

If the Mustangs stay motivated I believe they can get this win. When they are fired up and focused they have really put some points up. The D hasn't been too shabby either. They get stops when they have to.

I have no doubt Coach H will have them ready to go next week.

Mustangs 35
Bandera 24

Bandera is good-sized and fast.
Hubble can run and pass equally good. He, I think, is gonna sign with UTSA(don't quote me on that) div. 1. He is top 10 in total offense in the greater SA area even though he didn't play many of the games because of injury. That allowed them to help nurture depth at the skills position. He has a good receiving core and they can run good routes imho. They are pretty even on play selection just like yall.
The defense is pretty salty and tested. They are good at slowing both the run and pass when it matters most. They will be tough, period. Look for much more pressure than Zapata put on your QB.
I made these generalized for a reason...
Bandera has had few times where their starting lineup is consistent because of injuries. If they are on a roll... the Mustangs will have to play mistake-free and very good to great to win.
I think this game is fairly even.
But what do I know? lol:D

I think the Mustangs win this one. They are playing lights out lately. But as crazy as this season has been - I wouldn't be surprised if Bandera pulls out the win (how's that for a non-commited prediction) lol

the bulldogs only losses this year were to La Vernia and Pearsall. Hubble left with a broken nose in the first quarter of the La vernia game, and the Pearsall loss was a missed field goal to tie. Hubble has played sparingly the last 5 games and still manages to put up the stats. The 2nd string QB, soph Monroe, put up some good numbers before breaking a leg in the 2nd quarter of the Pearsall game. 3rd string QB Tyler Stevens (RB) has done a great job coming in, 200+ yds rushing against Hondo. Someone said earlier the defense is holding when they need to. Nail on the head. they have come up with big stops just when they needed it. With that, I cannot wait for this match up. I did hear from a Corpus Resident that Ingleside has a running back that is "Lightning in a Bottle".

So this game is going to be on a Thursday. I wonder why they decided to play on Thursday. I was looking forward to making this game, but now not so sure because I am going to be on travel this coming week in East Texas and am not sure if I am going to be back by then... :( What a buzz kill.

THURSDAY! That is like sacrilegious. Why when both of these teams have to travel. I just wish the best of luck to Cole. He is a great player and an even better kid. Go Bulldogs!

Oh yeah, that "lighting in a bottle" they are talking about is Dale Fabacher (WR/RB). This young man is fast... really fast. Ingleside has the weapons to compete IMO. This should be a great game.

I think when its all over with Ingleside will win, but not with out a good fight from Bandera. Both teams are good, so its hard to say.........but when it comes down to having to pick one team, i'll have to go with Ingleside.:D

Ingleside runs bubble screen right, Bubble screen left, GT right, GT left. that is the offense. The bandera D holds Ingledink to 14 and Bandera wins 26-14.

Interesting note, A former Ingleside HC is on the Bandera Staff, and even crazier, he has the best winning % in Floresville football history.

This ought to be a pretty decent game. Ingleside will have to come ready to play though, as Bandera > Zapata 10-fold.

GO MUSTANGS!!

im glad to see this game being a coin flip, last year coming off the bye we were supose to take la feria easily. which resulted in numerous key players having the worst game of thier season. this year the bye helps alot with injuries, i think bandera comes in focused and rested and ready to pick-up were they left off last year. looking forward to seeing this one!

I think both of these teams are way better than the rest of the state gives them credit for. I look for the winner of this game to make some noise in the next round against a very good opponent whether it be Sealy or Cuero. I think this will be one heck of a game to be at. Good luck to both teams!

I'm looking forward to this game. Don't know what to expect, so I'm not throwing out a prediction, but I will say that Bandera with a healthy Hubble is a hell of a team. Can't wait to see what happens.

Wait who said coach lewis was disgruntled? Where did that come from?

I do, we get into the backfield early and often to shut his run and pass game down. Even if we can't, doesn't mean our secondary is not fast enough to play good pass coverage. Ingleside has a QB by the name of Hull that can run and pass. We also have RB/WR by the name of Dale Fabacher that runs hard and is fast. Then we have a RB by the name of Raydell Perez that is not very big but he is very elusive and has some good speed. A host of WR's who can make big plays at any time. I say we have a good chance of playing very well with Bandera and even come out with the big W.

Go Mustangs!

Go Ingleside! I hope District 30AAA gets a sweep. I was told Ingleside was passing through Sinton at about noon on Friday so I will show my support as they pass by.
I am a Sinton fan but they are in our district so I will show support.

you go mustang, going through 5 qb's this year has made our coaches very creative, watch out for the two headed dragon, or the three headed monster, and dont forget about the wildcat,or in our case the junk yard dog!

Probably more than that... depends on how well the Mustang D roughs up Bandera's O... That will probably be the matchup that will determine how close this game is or not.

If Hubble is healthy I think Bandera wins. You can stop Hubble and Bandera all night long, the BAM, Hubble does something and is gone. You can contain and contain then BAM, he is gone. I look at Bandera as a 1 man team. Offensivly. Defensivly they are sound.

who did they play when he was out? Quality wins without Hubble?

bulldog82
11-19-2009, 02:10 PM
true, havent played quality team without him the entire game.he has played partial games, but i wouldnt say he was deciding factor. except for hondo maybe. was out completly against pearsall in 3 point loss game. thats after #2 Qb broke leg, and #3 Qb had already had ankle surgery, and #4 Qb hadnt played or practiced Qb since his fresh. year, now a senior. played part of devine game, where #5 Qb shared time with #4, which resulted with a win. and hondo, well he only went in to pass for 200 yds, scrambled once for 19 yds and never got touched.

Ingleside did exactly what I said they would have to do and that was get into the backfield early and often to disrupt Hubble from making big plays and giving him time to throw. We may have very well held Bandera to less than 200 total offensive yards. While our Offense may have racked up about 350. From the very beginning of the game to the very end our defense was all over the place. Bandera played really good defense early on, but as the game went on Ingleside opened it up. I am not going to take anything away from Bandera because they played hard and cut the lead going into the 4th qtr. 20-7, but on the next series after holding Ingleside we picked it off and ran it to Bandera’s 30 yard line. We put the nail in the coffin with a 30 yd TD pass. Momentum seemed to stay with Ingleside almost the whole game. We were able to control the clock in the second half. Ingleside played lights out and we need to this same type of game from them next week. We can be very competitive.

Great job ingleside definetly outplayed us. But i did see some bright spots for the future in bandera. Both teams didn't get to pass much so we didn't get to see our young recievers but tyler faris did great as a sophomore transfer from a 1a school. I was kinda looking foward to seeing us play cuero since the senior class beat their senior class JV year. But its it ingleside has a great reciever in #33 but he needs to toughen up.

Thanks for the kind words. You don't have anything to hang your head about, your boys had an outstanding season.

Look forward to seeing you in the playoffs from here on out.
