Funny how 10 years goes by so quickly. In '99 there was mass hysteria about Y2K going into effect in the new decade, people thinking it was gonna be the end of the world. While that was going on Texas had it's mind on the best thing that Texans are proud of High School Football.

Class 3A was in the second year of being split into 2 divisions

The Sinton Pirates was on the verge of being the most dominate team in district and being one of the best teams in the 2000's. From 1999-2009 made the playoffs 10 times and only missed only 1 year (2007). under 3 three different coaches

And one thing that still lingers from 10 years ago. It was Y2K and now this year it's 2012 haunting the last year of this decade from the movie, news, and shows on Sci-Fi and History channel:D But that's not gonna stop Texans from loving Texas Football:)

Why is 2012 haunting? I must have missed something.

Yup... Cuero 20 Sweeny 14...

We were down 14-0 at halftime... took it into OT... won toss and elected to play D... held sweeny to 0 and got the ball... our RB, Albert Wade told OC Stumbaugh "Give me the ball, I'll get it in there!"... he was so juiced he jumped offsides... we went with the same play and he scooted up the middle untouched for the game winning TD that night in El Campo...

1999 was the year that Mathis went all the way to the State game in Houston against Liberty Eylau. I know we loss but that was an awesome run during the playoffs. If Mathis gets out of this first game against Lyford, watch out we could make a long run in the playoffs.

In 1999, I was on my second tour in Korea. I remember we were all geared up for a DPRK attack.....since all of our defenses were going to go down due to Y2K.

We lost ONE computer....an old IBM 386 that we used for nothing more than a electronic log book.
