From what I hear they match up very similar with size and solid running game.
I know this doesn't mean much but they had 2 common opponents.

Cuero 41 La Vernia 16
Cuero 26 Yoakum 23

and

Marion 7 La Vernia 49
Marion 7 Yoakum 70

I'm taking Yoakum on this one. I've seen both teams and Yoakum has the size to match up with LV, and the speed to run right past them. I say 24-21, Yoakum. William can kick those FG's!!

I will to. I think the Sam Houston game woke the Bears up a bit. I think they win this one. 35-21.

LaVernia will have to find some kind of passing game to go along with their really good run game. I wish they would fake the zone read and throw the ball on first down every now and then. I think that Yoakum is very good and I think it will be close game and will come down to the end. Whoever turns the ball over the least will win the game. I just think LaVernia will control the clock and keep Yoakum from scoring on big plays. Just like they did last week against Luling. Luling has just as much big play threat as Yoakum just not as good of an offensive line as Yoakum does. Will be a great game fun to watch. William Markert must have a huge game to win this game. Run for 150 and throw for 150. That kind of game. Must be balanced to beat LaVernia.

The strength of this team is their offensive line. They are big and very strong and they have gotten better all year. Their starting 5 is very good, but they have 3 other kids who are almost as good. La Vernia can not stop Yoakum's run game. When the dogs have lost, they have given up a lot of big plays to the pass. The question is whether or not they can stop the bears running game.
Yoakum seems to not show up consistently every week. I still think Yoakum wins in a close one.

I have not seen La Vernia play, but I have seen Yoakum this year and many other years and if the Bulldogs are on they can put 50+ points on the board.I'll pick Yoakum to win.

Yes he can and did. He went 3 out of 4 on FGs. 50% on XPs. They will need to convert TDs instead of FGs down the road. Penelaties setup the majority of the FGs except the 2nd half. Both teams Defenses slammed the door on one another.
